Underwear as Outerwear

tropical print bralet crop top - primark
high-waisted denim shorts - new look
sunglasses - bought from Turkey
Alibi leather ankle boots - topshop

I promise to upload 'day two in Madrid' tomorrow - I want to be able to sit down and explain the outfit properly with reference to the different attractions we visited and the things we ate etc etc. Saying that, the above outfit was actually featured in the holiday lookbook with a few accessories changed around for the evening. Staaaaay tuned for that. :)

I'm all moved in now and my daily commute has now been cut down from an hour and a half to 45 minutes, sweet. It means I potentially have more time in the morning to either sleep/faff around/work out so this pleases me greatly! Packing, moving and unpacking was strangely not as stressful as it had been in the past and everything went swimmingly. The weather is lovely so I'm feelin' all dandy and happy on this Monday morning!

Wearing underwear as outerwear was a concept of utmost horror to me a year ago. I wasn't a big fan of the trend and didn't understand why people would have wanted to wear a bralet out in public. Saying that, my lack in the chest department may have also contributed to those thoughts, ahem. A year later and I'm waving the white flag by embracing the darn thing.

It epitomises summer, it's 'cheeky' without the need to bare your all, it's easy to dress up or down and it's just an all round good piece to wear for those tropical moods. Katy Perry and Selena Gomez were sported with tropical print crops a few months ago and after spying it on them, I had to find a high street alternative. This little number from Primark was perfect. I paired it with some high-waisted denim shorts to turn it into a more casual affair although a skater or A-line skirt would look great too. If you're more of a pear shape, opt for the latter. The flare of the skirts will skim past your hips, accentuate your waist and will balance out your overall silhouette.

I just fancied going 'all out' with a summery outfit. I did try to tone down the colour/print explosion by wearing leather ankle boots. Sandals would've been great for the day but from day-to-night, this helps to change the look without having to layer up or swap bottoms/lipstick/hair style. It would've been a fitting outfit for the scorcher we had this weekend!

I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine!

Here's hopin' it'll stick around and we'll finally have a summer, ey?!

Have a great day :)
